English: KANEOHE KAY, Hawaii (June 12, 2008) Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Joe R. Campa Jr. attends a memorial service in honor of Honorary Chief Aviation Ordnanceman David R. Eberhart at the base chapel on Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay. Eberhart, 35, was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer on Sept. 2, 2002 and continued to serve on active duty in his attempt to become a chief petty officer while fighting the disease.
