English: DAKAR, Senegal (July 24, 2008) Petty Officer 3rd Class Caroline Gehring, assigned to the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Dallas (WHEC 716), demonstrates basic first-aid procedures to members from the Senegalese Navy and National Marines in the ship's helicopter hangar. Dallas is deployed to the region under the direction of Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Commander, U.S. Sixth Fleet supporting Africa Partnership Station (APS). APS is an initiative aimed at strengthening global maritime partnerships through training and other collaborative activities in order to improve global maritime safety and security.
