English: PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 9, 2010) Operations Specialist 3rd Class Jonathan Schneider takes the Navy-wide E-5 advancement exam with 72 other eligible third class petty officers on the mess decks aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9). Denver is part of the permanently forward-deployed Essex Amphibious Ready Group and is underway on a scheduled patrol throughout the western Pacific region.
