Description
English: PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 26, 2011) Jon Wingard, a Scan Eagle operator and maintainer from Insitu Group, places an Scan Eagle unmanned aerial vehicle on its stand aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45). Scan Eagle is a runway independent, long-endurance, unmanned aerial vehicle system designed to provide multiple surveillance, reconnaissance data, and battlefield damage assessment missions. Comstock is part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and is underway in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Joseph M.
