Image title | 110407-N-8288P-009 PACIFIC OCEAN (April 7, 2011) -- Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Emil Agas, from Chicago pulls and pushes the knee joint of a Sailor during a physical therapy session in the medical facility aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). Several Sailors make routine visits to physical therapy for various reasons, to include rehabilitation after surgeries or joint problems. George Washington departed her forward-operating port of Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka on March 21, 2011. Her departure was in response to the complex nature of the disaster that struck Japan on March 11. Getting underway assures George Washington can sustain a state of readiness in the long-term defense of Japan. The forward-deployed carrier is scheduled to remain in the local waters off Japan.
