English: GULF OF ADEN (Oct. 4, 2011) Lt. j.g. Martha Rowe, officer of the deck, observes the ship's progress from the bridge wing of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) as the ship transits near the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) during an underway replenishment. Whidbey Island is deployed as part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
