English: Navy Diver 2nd Class Cody Creger, assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 2, Company 4, operates a suction dredge during an underwater recovery operation in the Mediterranean Sea in search of an unaccounted-for service member who went missing during World War II. The divers are deployed alongside the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command; JPAC conducts global search, recovery and laboratory operations to identify unaccounted-for Americans from past conflicts. The team is embarked aboard the USNS Grapple (T-ARS 53) during the 30-day recovery mission. (DoD photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Martin L. Carey, U.S. Navy) |
