English: Yoshio Yoshizumi, a Waialua High School senior, and Electronics Technician 3rd Class Joel Reed from the USS Cape St. George (CG 71) high-five after a robotics competition which included Sailors piloting robots built by the students. The competition, sponsored by the U.S. Pacific Fleet and the Office of Naval Research, gives the students a chance to learn about the Navy and builds proficiency in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skills. The world's largest international maritime exercise, Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014 provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships, six submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC.
