English: US Troops in An English Village- Everyday Life With the Americans in Burton Bradstock, Dorset, England, UK, 1944 American troops billeted in Burton Bradstock, Dorset, sit in the dappled shade of the sycamore tree on the village green and chat to some of the local boys. In the group are: Pfc Robert S Hastings (of 622 Orange Avenue, Azusa, California), T/5 Leo H Pearson (of 105 Buffalo Street, Springville, New York) and Corporal Roland Henry (of 'Walthernmont, Holland, Pennsylvania). Sharing a joke with the GIs are local boys Peter Davis, Bobby Cammell and Jim Churchill. One of the boys has his dog with him. |
