Description
English: U.S. soldiers and Germans look at a Victory Loan poster on a U.S. Army information station in the Porta-Nigra-Square, Trier, Rhenish Prussia, Germany, 16 April 1919. Note sign mandating appearance standards for soldiers entering their city. The U.S. troops entered the city on 1 December 1918 and were replaced by French troops on 11 August 1919.
