Description
Deutsch: Landgraf Wilhelm IV. von Hessen-Kassel ließ sich seit Ende der 1560er Jahre über die Entwicklung in den Niederlanden berichten. Neben dem ausgiebig genutzten Mittel gedruckter Pamphlete griff die Propaganda des Niederländischen Aufstands auch noch auf das eher klassische Medium der karikierenden Zeichnung zurück. Die hier zu sehende Karikatur stellt einen Reflex auf das Ewige Edikt dar, das am 12. Februar 1577 zwischen Don Juan d’Austria und den Generalstaaten der Niederlande geschlossen worden war.
