Description
English: United States Post Office, 118 North 2nd Street at Pine Street, Clearfield, Pennsylvania, November 2020. Though built in 1937, the Clearfield post office better exemplifies the so-called "stripped Classical" architecture that was popular about two decades earlier: the twin entrances are flanked with fluted pilaster strips; festoon ornamentation with central shield modillions figure atop the trio of windows; a bracketed cornice lies under a low parapet wall atop the flat roof.
