ict has given to the world more than$12,000,000 in gold. It possesses a mill with a ca-pacity of 1,200 tons a day. It also contains the onlyquicksilver distilling plant in the State. The mer-cury has only recently been saved as a by-product,but is found to be highly profitable. About 400 menare employed at this camp. Tintic District.—Is 85 miles by rail southwestof Salt Lake City. The principal towns of the dis-trict are Eureka, Mammoth, and Silver City. Thedividends paid by the mines of the district up to1903 amounted to $12,292,450. The ores of the dis-trict are silver and lead with some copper. Gold Mountain.—A gold producing district 200miles south of Salt Lake City, Kimberley is itsprincipal town. The Annie Laurie, the originalmine of the district, has a mill with a capacity of350 tons a day, employs over 200 men and, up to1905, had declared dividends to the amount of $390,-000. But recently a plant has beenerected which adds zinc to the commercial productsof the State. It has made this by-product a consid-erable item in the profits of the company. Thecharacteristic metals are silver and lead. Other Districts.—Among these are Deep Creek,silver; Marysvale, gold; Stateline, gold; La Sal,gold; Copper Mountain, copper. These are a few ofthe numerous undeveloped and partially developedmining districts scattered throughout the State.They offer great inducements to the prospector andthe intelligent investor. Where Wealth is Made. rY MELTING AND MILLING.—The sevenl,foj smelters of Utah employ 2000 men and havea capacity in excess of 3000 tons daily which isbeing unfailingly supplied by the mines.
