| Description |
c/n G-018. The VFW-614 was an unsuccessful jetliner from the early 1970's and was unusual because the engines were mounted over the wing, in an attempt to avoid ingestion problems. A production line was set up at the Bremen factory, but only 23 were built. This one saw German military service with the serial '17+02'. Now preserved, it still wears the basic German scheme but is without titles and carries a civil registration. It is on display at the 'Aeronauticum' museum, Nordholz, Germany. 22-06-2014. |
