  • Significance: One of the most impressive gateways to a national park, the Chinook Pass Entrance is a bold example of the "rustic style" of architecture employed by the National Park Service. the log and masonry structure serves as an entrance arch defining the boundary of the national park, and also as a trail bridge carrying the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. The structure was designed by the National Park Service and constructed by the Emergency Conservation Works program, affiliated with the Civilian Conservation Corps, the massive Depression-era public works project.
