Description

Иоанно-Богословский мужской монастырь в Пощупово. Находится монастырь на правом берегу реки Оки, в 25 километрах от города Рязани.

Историческое предание относит его возникновение к концу XII или началу XIII столетия когда в эти края пришли монахи - проповедники Слова Божия. С собою они принесли чудотворную икону апостола Иоанна Богослова - одну из многих святынь, переданных Константинопольской Церковью в благословление новопросвещённой Русской земле. Образ этот стал главной святыней Богословского монастыря.
