This lake is at the top of Vail Pass. It is either Black Lake or Black Lake No 2 (probably Black Lake). The view is to the "east" direction over the pass, which is actually south. Interstate 70 is to the left, and is barely visible in the distance. The easily-visible road is an unnamed frontage road. The mountain in the distance might be Resolution Mountain. David Benbennick took this photo on October 16, 2004 at 2:24 PM (local time). Alas, this is only a thumbnail; I didn't keep the original. The 20:32, 29 May 2005 version of this photo is a crop of the original, highlighting the mountain in the distance. |
