Summary edit

Description Early seal of Danish King Valdemar Atterdag. This seal is known from documents dating 1340-1345. The title seems to incidate that he used the seal before becoming king, i.e. as a young squire.
Source Anders Thiset (1850-1917): Danske kongelige Sigiller, Copenhagen : C.A. Reitzel, 1917.
Author Thiset's book contains contributions from a number of artists. This illustration (seal no. 36) was drawn by Emmery Rondahl (1858-1914). Because of its age this picture is now in Public Domain.
