Summary edit

Description
English: The funeral procession for Bali, the 'vanara' king. The palanquin bearing King Bali’s corpse to its cremation is carried by four 'vanaras', depicted as monkeys in a procession led by two standard-bearers and a monkey who sprinkles sacred water from a bowl carried on the head of another. In the foreground, four more monkeys walk beside the bier, preceded by a drummer and a drum-bearer. The cortege ends with the grief-stricken Queen Tara and three mourners represented as human woman. The puffy clouds and plain landscape typical of Nurpur pictures are evident. The picture has a red border with black, white and blue-grey rules.
