English: A vertical sundial at the Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town, South Africa. It face a direction of about 55° east of north. Unlike vertical sundials in the Northern Hemisphere, the numbers run clockwise, not anti-clockwise. It should be noted that the clock in the photographer's camera, nominally set to GMT, was 17 minutes fast and that South African Standard Time is GMT+2. |
