Summary edit

Description

The USTDA grant will help Vietnam address the technological challenges of implementing Phase III, which include wind assessments, permitting and land control issues, and electrical grid interconnection. In addition to the Bac Lieu project, the Tay Nguyen Wind Farm broke ground in March 2015. The facility, located in the central highlands, has a design capacity of 120 MW and an estimated cost of $279.62 million (U.S. dollars). The GSO estimates that hydropower will represent a smaller share of Vietnam's power generation mix as other technologies come online. www.eia.gov/forecasts/ieo/electricity.cfm
