Summary edit

Description A view of Castle Square in the centre of Brighton, part of the English seaside city of Brighton and Hove. This area has been a hub of commercial activity since the mid-18th century. It took its name from the Castle Inn, demolished in 1823; this stood just beyond the white building with the green hanging sign on the left. On the right, most of the buildings date from the early 19th century and are Grade II-listed; the tall bow-fronted building with a hanging sign is the Royal Pavilion Tavern. In the background is Old Steine; just visible beyond the furthest buildings is the Brighton Wheel.
