Nanda Devi Peak: A pilgrimage to Nature, Culture and Faith

| Description |
English: Nanda Devi Peak (7816 m) is the second highest peak in India. Nanda Devi basin was notified as a National Park in the year 1982. The core zone of the Nanda Devi National park is 625 square kilometers. The park is approachable only by trekking. Visitors are allowed only till Dharansi campsite. The access to the park is from the village of Lata near Joshimath in the border district of Chamoli in Uttarakhand. The best option to visit the park is by joining the Interpretive Trek to Nanda Devi National Park which is offered between the months of May-June and September-October.
हिन्दी: समुद्र तल से 7816 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर स्तिथ नंदा देवी पर्वत शिखर भारत की दूसरी सबसे ऊँची चोटी है। नंदा देवी के जलागम क्षेत्र को वर्ष 1982 में राष्ट्रीय उद्यान के रूप में अंगीकृत किया गया। नंदा देवी राष्ट्रीय उद्यान का कुल क्षेत्रफल 625 वर्ग किलोमीटर है। नंदा देवी राष्ट्रीय उद्यान में प्रवेश एवं भ्रमण केवल ट्रैकिंग द्वारा ही किया जा सकता है। उत्तराखंड के सीमान्त जनपद चमोली के जोशीमठ के समीप स्थित ग्राम लाता, नंदा देवी राष्ट्रीय उद्यान का प्रवेश द्वार है। नंदा देवी राष्ट्रीय उद्यान प्रतिवर्ष माह मई से अक्टूबर की अवधि में पर्यटकों हेतु खुलता है. भ्रमण हेतु सही विकल्प नंदा देवी इंस्टिट्यूट द्वारा मई -जून एवं सितम्बर -अक्टूबर में आयोजित नंदा देवी नेशनल पार्क इंटरप्रिटेशन ट्रेक (Nanda Devi National Park Interpretive Trek ) है . |
