English: View of Woolwich and the river Thames from the north. Detail of an engraving by Richard Rixon. The tall stuccoed building is the Nile Tavern on Hog Lane. Nearby two so-called Watermen's Stairs: the Green Dragon Stairs at the end of Hog Lane (later Nile Street). Further east the Bell Water Gate Stairs. To the right the parish church of St Mary Magdalene and Woolwich Dockyard.
