| Description |
English: View up Ludgate Hill from Fleet Street. This classic view of St Pauls was to some extent spoiled when in 1874 the railway bridge over Ludgate Hill was built. The view in 1979 can be seen 517844, but the railway bridge has been removed and the tracks put underground since then, so that the view can be enjoyed again, but it is a pity that the Guild Church of St. Martins-within-Ludgate (whose spire is right in line with St. Paul's Dome) has been cut off by enlargement of the building in front of it, (again, compare with 1979). |
