Description
Español: Desde 1971 cada 8 de abril el pueblo Rom, el pueblo gitano, celebra este día como símbolo de su identidad y del camino recorrido internacionalmente por esta comunidad. Esta fecha fue establecida por el primer Congreso Mundial roma-gitano celebrado en Londres, el que además fueron establecidos también la bandera y el himno del pueblo gitano. Precisamente ese estandarte cuelga en los balcones de las Juntas de distrito de Puente y Villa de Vallecas, con motivo de la declaración institucional del Día del Pueblo Gitano, presentada por el distrito de Villa de Vallecas y con el consenso de todos los grupos municipales.
