Description
English: Village sign for Widecombe-in-the-Moor The civil parish of Widecombe-in-the-Moor is the second largest in Devon and covers almost 11,000 acres, much of which is moorland used as rough grazing for cattle and sheep. The parish has supported a population since prehistoric times, several of the farms and manors are named in the Domesday Book. By the 16th century all the present farms were in existence.
