Description
English: Seaman First Class Vincent James Milita joined the United States Navy on February 14, 1945, aged 17. He trained at the Naval Training Station (NTS) Sampson, New York until May 22nd, upon which time he was sent to Naval Training Station Newport, Rhode Island. In August he was ordered to Baltimore, Maryland and was stationed on the USS Allagash (AO-97), an oiler to be commissioned on the 21st. He served aboard her until July 1946 upon which time he was honorably discharged with the rank of Seaman First Class (S 1/C).
