The model that set the standard for the classic cube radios. With the TR-1829 introduced the next year, this model helped establish a new category of cute radios that can easily be given as gifts. The large round dial scale covers one side of the cube. The volume dial here, which doubles as the power switch, is the culmination of design work for a visually intuitive and convenient shape. Dark brown wood grain was chosen as the color, making the radio an attractive addition to tables or desks.
