Summary edit

Description

The Research Vessel (R/V) Sikuliaq stopped at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) in August 2014 for some final outfitting, and the visit provided an opportunity for visitors from Capitol Hill, the research community and the National Science Foundation to check out NSF’s newest research vessel. Rep. Bill Keating of Massachusetts’ ninth congressional district tried out the captain’s chair while getting a few pointers from Sikuliaq Captain Michael Hoshlyk For more on the Sikuliaq, including a clip of the launch, check out this video. And for more on the port visit at Woods Hole, see NSF’s [#//www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?cntn_id=132249” press release].
