Summary edit

Description A visitor takes a look at the new Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) transportation exhibit that was unveiled November 5, 2011 in Albuquerque, N.M. at the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History. A cutaway of the TRUPACT-II, a transportation package used for shipping transuranic waste to WIPP near Carlsbad, N.M., is the centerpiece of the new exhibit. The project was an initiative between the museum, the U.S. Department of Energy Carlsbad Field Office and URS Washington TRU Solutions, LLC, the WIPP management and operating contractor.
