Description
English: The western pedestrian crosswalk for the Withlachoochee State Trail along the north side of Citrus County Road 486(Norvelle Bryant Drive) just west of US 41 in Hernando, Florida at the intersection of Railroad Way. This has pedestrian warning signs with signals that are triggered by strobe-sensors along the trail whenever a pedestrian, bicyclist, or horse rider uses it. The eastern crosswalk exists at the intersection of US 41 itself. The trail used to go directly across CCR 486 until that road was widened to a four-lane highway and moved toward one of the pedestrian crossovers you see here so it can return to its original path along the old Atlantic Coast Line Railroad right-of-way to Holder and Citrus Springs. Across the street is an unnamed County Bike traik along the highway. On the corner of the north side of the trail, CCR 486 and US 41, you'll find the Hernando Trailhead which includes parkland, water fountains, sheltered picnic areas and public restrooms.
