English: Troops of the Wehrmacht, the military forces of Nazi Germany, in Karl Johans gate Street in Oslo, Norway in April 1940, during the first days of the German invasion and occupation of Norway in World War II. Soldiers equipped with greatcoats, steel helmets, Karabiner 98k rifles and field gear, on a truck bed loaded with civilian's suitcases and back packs. Bystanders/pedestrians/spectactors are watching, Norwegian unarmed mounted police with Brodie helmets, a local tram to the right.
Norsk bokmål: Foto fra Oslo setrum 9. april 1940, under den tyske invasjonen og okkupasjonen av Norge under andre verdenskrig. Soldater fra Wehrmacht, det nazistiske Tysklands militære styrker, inntar og besetter hovedstaden. Bildet er tatt utafor Brødrene Hallén i krysset mellom Øvre Slottsgate og Karl Johans gate og viser tyske soldatene på rekvirert privat lastebil fra e farvehandel, lasta med ransler, kofferter og ryggsekker. De er bevæpna med Mauser-geværer (Karabiner 98k-rifler), er kledt i side frakker og høye støvler, har stålhjelmer og feltutstyr. Forbipasserende menn på fortauet ser på.
