Description
English: Troops of the Wehrmacht, the military forces of Nazi Germany, in Oslo, Norway on April 9, 1940, the first day of the German invasion and occupation of Norway in World War II. The soldiers are equipped with greatcoats, jack boots, steel helmets, MP 40 sub machine guns, MG 34 machine guns, Karabiner 98k rifles, ammunition, field gear, etc. They are marching down the Karl Johans gate Street while civilians have gathered on the pavements as spectactors of the show. Unarmed Norwegian police in dark overcoats and British brodie helmets help maintain law and order. In the background are the Royal palace, University of Oslo, etc.

Tropper fra Wehrmacht, det nazistiske Tysklands militære styrker, inntar og besetter hovedstaden. Bildet viser soldater i side frakker, høye støvler, stålhjelmer og feltutstyr, bevæpna med maskinpistoler (MP40), maskingeværer (MG 34)og Mauser-geværer (Karabiner 98k-rifler) som marsjerer nedover gata med Studenterlunden og Nationaltheatret til venstre i bildet, Slottet i bakgrunnen, og de gamle universitetsbygningene til høyre. Sivile menn og kvinner har samla seg på fortauene for å se på. Noen har sykkel. Ubevæpna norsk politi i lange frakker og britiske hjelmer, ridende til hest, holder ro og orden. Trafikklys i gatekrysset.
