Description
English: Grande-Bretagne : embarquement sur les navires, début juin 1944 - Opération Overlord : Un USMP attend à bord d'un bateau. Ces hommes auront pour tâche d'organiser et de gérer le trafic nécessaire à l'assaut en Europe, notamment sur les rivages et dans les villes occupées.

La bande jaune du casque désigne ce Policeman Pvt Clyde Peacock, 1st MP Platoon de la 1st US ID. A la fin de l'imperméabilisation de chaque véhicule, une notice spéciale est collée sur son pare-brise, et reçoit les initiales d'un officier contrôleur. La notice représente un drapeau américain au recto et porte au verso des instructions relatives à la " déimperméabilisation " de l'engin. Le petit tube vertical placé le long du pare-brise évite la formation d'un vide d'air dans la transmission. Un manchon lance-grenade de fusil M1903 y a été provisoirement fixé. Le tuyau noir de gauche est l'alimentation en air du carburateur, la pression des gaz est suffisante dans l'échappement pour qu'une rallonge ne soit pas nécessaire.
