English: WW2 pillbox at the eastern end of Porth Sawsen beach Type 24 pillbox to defend Porth Saxon* Beach. Exterior steps down to entrance door. 2 small embrasures on entry side; 5 larger embrasures on other walls with 2 currently blocked up. 20ins thick walls (information from The Defence of Britain Database http://www.pillboxesuk.co.uk/). One of many such protecting the Helford River and Falmouth Bay. *Porth Saxon is known locally as Porth Sawsen.
