Description
English: Lace is an openwork fabric, patterned with open holes in the work, made by machine or by hand. Lace is often made with cotton thread, although linen and silk threads are still available. Lace is typical of Belgium, where every city has its own stitch. The sounds were taken in December 2014 in the Museum of La Fonderie. Claudine has created lace as a hobby for more than 20 years now, using the Brussels stitch.

Bobbin lace is made with bobbins and a pillow. The bobbins, turned from wood, bone, or plastic, hold threads which are woven together and held in place with pins stuck in the pattern on the pillow. Lace is an openwork fabric, patterned with open holes in the work, made by machine or by hand.
Bobbins are moved from left to right and right to left, and lace is created when a thread is looped, twisted or braided to other threads independently from a backing fabric. In Brussels four bobbins are used (eight in Flanders).

These bobbins are made of boxwood.

More than 30 hours would be necessary to complete this pièce of lace.
