Object history | Arberg war der Sitz der gleichnamigen Eichstätter Erbschenken, die 1229 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt sind. Von 1319 bis 1512 erwarb das Hochstift Eichstätt alle adligen Besitzungen in Arberg und richtete hier 1602 ein Pfleg- und Kastenamt ein. Daran erinnern der Abtstab und die Farben Silber und Rot aus dem Hochstiftswappen. Der Adler und der Dreiberg stehen redend für den Ortsnamen. Arberg wird 1454 erstmals Markt genannt. Das älteste überlieferte Marktsiegel aus dem frühen 15. Jahrhundert zeigt nur einen Adler, in den späteren Siegeln kommen Bischofsstab und Dreiberg dazu. Seitdem hat sich das Bild nicht mehr geändert. | ||||
