»Der aus parallelen Streifen gebildete Buchstabe symbolisiert den Zusammenschluss von fünf Gemeinden zur neuen Gemeinde Borchen, das Kreuz in dem Buchstaben erinnert an die Zugehörigkeit zum früheren Fürstbistum Paderborn.
