Deutsch: Forchheim ist ehemaliges Königsgut. Als Kaiser Heinrich II. im Jahr 1007 das Bistum Bamberg gründete, kam Forchheim mit 14 anderen Ortschaften an das Bistum. Die Erhebung zur Stadt erfolgte spätestens im 13. Jahrhundert, eine Stadtgründungsurkunde ist nicht überliefert. Von Forchheim sind viele Siegel erhalten. Das älteste bekannte Siegel ist um 1280 entstanden und zeigt die beiden Fische, die redend für den Stadtnamen stehen sollten, den man von Forchen (Forellen) ableitete. Heute weiß man, dass der Ortsname von dem althochdeutschen foraha kommt und Siedlung an einem Föhrenwald bedeutet. In den Siegeln zwischen 1559 und 1650 ist der Schild vorübergehend mit Wellen gefüllt und es erscheint zusätzlich der Großbuchstabe V für Vorchheim. Die Farben ändern sich mehrmals. 1565 ist der Schild von Rot und Gold geteilt, im 19. Jahrhundert ist der Schild Blau. Heute orientiert man sich bei der Farbgebung an die farbige Abbildung von 1555. |
