Deutsch: Warmes Wasser braucht man ständig. Da entsteht einiges an CO2.
English: You need hot water all the time: When washing dishes, for heating and every day in the bathroom. But before you can step into the hot shower, cold water has to be heated. Some families use a solar system for this, which produces no CO2 at all. In most families in Germany, the water is heated with a gas boiler. That creates a lot of CO2. The gas comes from the earth's interior. A deep hole is drilled with a large drill. From there, the gas reaches the earth's surface. It is routed to a gas works via pipelines. And finally it arrives at your home. The gas is burned in the thermal bath and heats the cold water. You see, by the time you can hop under the warm shower, quite a bit of CO2 is produced. |
