Summary edit

Description
English: Water buffalo in the marshes The Welsh Wildlife Trust, which manages the marshes here, employs a small herd of Asian water buffalo to control the growth of invasive plants like common reed and reedmace. Management of the reed beds is important as they offer food and vital cover for birds. The buffalo, return to winter quarters after the summer, seem very contented with their role here. Incidentally the buffalo are in Ceredigion while the picture is taken from Pembrokeshire: the boundary follows the stream.
