| Description |
English: Mecca bingo hall, King Street, Watford, Hertfordshire. There has been a cinema on this site since 1913 when the Central Hall was built. In 1930 the cinema was renamed as the Regal, and it was almost entirely replaced by the current Art Deco building in 1932. It kept the Regal name until 1956 when it was renamed the Essoldo. In 1968 it was converted to a bingo hall in 1968, so it has seen longer service now in that guise than it did as a cinema. |
