Summary edit

Description
English: West Door of Chester Cathedral The west door of Chester Cathedral as seen from St Werburgh Street near to the town hall square. Formerly dedicated to St Werburgh, the building was rededicated in 1541 as the Cathedral Church of Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary at Chester. The empty niches either side of the door indicate where statues were removed by the supporters of Oliver Cromwell.
