Summary edit

Description
English: Postcard of the Whitman School building, originally located at the Northeast corner of Chelan Avenue and Whitman Way on the city's North end. Designed by Seattle architects Elliot & West, who had a branch office in Wenatchee during this time. Built in 1903 as Wenatchee's first high school, it was soon forced to take on all grades as the city's growth exploded, and the building would be doubled in size in 1906. In 1938 a new art deco building was built wrapping around the front of the 1903 school, after which the old building was demolished. The new Whitman School still stands and is currently used as a Wells Fargo bank branch.
