The image of this red taped "why" is haunting. To what or to whom is this naked question directed? This is a tiny cubicle from where this security guard would watch as young privileged students would daily walk past him on their way to becoming accountants, engineers, scientists or whatever they had dreamed for themselves... Is this a cry for the life that could have been his but circumstance and society denied him? Accessible internet access and a desire to educate one's self can overcome this social injustice and elevate the ordinary African citizen to a "higher plane, greater scope and larger capability" |
