| Description |
Deutsch: Westansicht der Annakirche im 1. Wiener Gemeindebezirk (Annagasse 3B). Die Kirche wurde ab 1514 als Spitalskirche errichtet und 1518 zu Ehren der hl. Anna geweiht. Anfang der 1630er Jahre wurde sie vergrößert und in frühbarocken Jesuitenstil umgebaut. Ab 1716 wurde unter der Regie des Jesuitenfraters und Malers Christoph Tausch (1673–1731) die ganze Kirche neu ausgestaltet. Nach einen Brand in der Nacht vom 25./26. Juni 1747 stürzte der Glockenturm ein, weiters wurden die Deckenfresken und das Hochaltarbild zerstört. Der Turm wurde in etwas veränderter Form wieder errichtet und 1751 malte Daniel Gran (1694–1757) die Deckenfresken sowie das Hochaltarbild neu (Quelle: The Best Kunstverlag: 500 Jahre St. Annakirche; ISBN 978-3-902809-37-7). |
