| Description |
English: Wilderspool Brewery - steam engine, near to Warrington, Great Britain.
Tangye of Birmingham inverted vertical single cylinder engine. It has a flywheel mounted inertia governor that alters the valve cut-off. Quite a sophisticated feature and one I haven't seen that often. This engine was out of use and hidden in a corner of this tower brewery. It was acquired by the late Fred Dibnah MBE and used by him to drive a saw. It has recently been sold by Cheffins on behalf of the estate. |
