Description
English: The Great Rights is an American traditional animated short film directed by William Hurtz, written by Millard Lampell, and produced by Thomas Brandon.

The original description of the video by A/V Geeks (YT) provided from the source:

Follows Millie and her father as they tour Washington D C. Uses animation to show what would happen if the Bill of Rights disappeared from American life. Designed to show that rights must be believed in, valued and used, to fulfill the promise of the Constitution.

InfoField
  • Jayvee Enaguas (HarvettFox96) reviewed the copyright for the animated short film on April 4, 2022, which includes most materials and elements.
    • A copyright notice seems present, which reads:
Copyright 1963 Thomas Brandon. All rights reserved.
    • Brandon didn't file an entry for the animated short film as published between 1963 (1, 2) and 1964 (1, 2).
    • Following the death of Thomas Brandon, none of the authors—including children—and proprietors renewed an entry for the animated short film from the original copyright holder within the required 28-year period between 1990 and 1991.
      • Searching (with limits) in the post-1978 catalogues at the United States Copyright Office, no renewal entry results have been found except two others renewed—including an unpublished musical composition by Gerald Fried and an unrelated, published work of the book of the same title—and two rightsholder transfers.
    • After the failure of copyright renewal, the animated short film automatically entered the public domain on the first day of January 1992 and is freely available and distributable in both physical and digital formats.
