Caption reads: "This new and stylish residence, just completed, is situated at No. 2800 W. Broad Street. Mr. Van Sickle should be complimented for building this handsome property, the interior of which as well as the architectural design is perfect. Mr. Van Sickle is one of Columbus' well-known lawyers." According to the caption, this was the home of William Lincoln Van Sickle, and attorney, but according to the 1897 Columbus City Directory, 2800 West Broad Street was the home of William W. Van Sickle, a grocer.
